There’s been always debate over
classy vs unclassy. The classy enjoy meals, dinner and breakfast in a
restaurant paying VAT, service tax and additional taxes but they argue or doubt
over the freshness of a vegetable in a market (by market I never ever mean
Reliance fresh). Its freezed packaged decorated vegetables which may suit
to their reputation and class but aren’t enough to provide them with required
vitamins and minerals and resulting in a poor immunity level. They doubt over
the freshness of vegetables but they dare to raise a question over packaged and
decorated food items in stores. I don’t know how did consuming Bel juice or
original mango juice became unclassy over having slice (which itself says its
aerated drink and contains added flavored taste , brands like Frooti, Maaza,
Slice and Jumpin' have flavors added to them. The blog is not about classy vs
unclassy. It’s over honesty vs hypocrisy. Advertisement vs truth, men vs real
men.
Days back, one of my senior mate
Ravi Saxena (works in Wabco) needed a haircut .I suggested him Luks and
other fancy hair cutting saloons because he earns now and can afford a rs 150
haircut but he refused saying he’s been to same barber for 13 years and
rarely miss him. We reached the hair cutting shop .The barber was busy with
some other costumer who looked like a government official and was telling him
of the incidents that aren’t known to locals. Next was our turn. The man gave
him rs 500 and the barber had no change .He asked us for change. We too had
none. The man said he’ll be back with the change amount. He left, meanwhile it
was almost half an hour there. I was busy playing tap the frog game on his
phone and was trying to beat the high score set by him but couldn’t do
it. Later I came to know the score was set by her teen cousin who is eight
years old and I couldn't even beat her .It was now 50 minutes and now the
barber began investing how long did it took to have get money changed. He asked
your permission to go and have a look around. He went to look over the places I
too followed him to a little distance but found none looking like the man. The
barber came back empty heated and began cutting Ravi bhaiya’s hair. He
said “लगता है ,आज 40 रुपया का घाटा हो गया। दो किलो आटा का दाम लेगया वो आदमी(mind it
,cost of wheat is rs 22/kg)I go shopping with mom. You
can’t skip mothers. It took me into deep thought how much those 40 rupees meant to
him and how dishonest was the man who didn’t even bother to return him the amount.
We were around the place for about 3 hours which included bank works also but
found no sign of the man. How can one be so cruel and dishonest to these
people, in fact why only them why being dishonest to anyone? We take money from
people then forget it. Thinking the amount to be in little we
forget to give it back but that little amount matter to them very much. We don’t care about the consequences. What is merely rs 40 for
us, may mean
survival to them.
The class can be modest with
their tone in malls, shopping complexes but their reality comes out it real
market. Their yelling, over rs 1 or 5 can be easily heard in market. You may
also come over real creepy guys out there in market who refuse taking
vegetables without being given in plastic because vegetables gets mixed up.
How’s that a reason to have a polythene bag. Luckily my mom doesn’t take things
in polythene. I am not fully against them but there’s got to be civic sense.
Nowadays, there is prime time debate over gau-rakshaks, who are beating up
innocent people and letting go those plastic in throats of cows. If they really
want to protect them and being meaningful. They should do the duty with
sensible attitude and think of management of plastics bags and protecting cows
from consuming them.
I am too a part of classy
sometimes but luckily I have a mother who sends me back to fakira to give them
back rs 50 because they paid her extra and in return I paid policemen rs
200 because I wasn’t wearing a helmet. Well that's my fault because she
warned me to wear it. You should always listen to women. I don’t know how they
can see future or maybe they decide your future upcoming. It’s been weeks back when,
me and my friend, UPS (Uday Pratap Singh) and Alok went to our school to
have some papers on my scooty (people who know me those 2 years know about my
scooty, others may skip this part). While going to school UPS saw a girl, who’s
been 100% guarantee unlucky to me and my best friend Harsh since school days.
It was all good up to then .we went to school, had our papers. When we came
back to parking .we saw my scooty punctured. Everybody knows the nearest reach
of puncture shop from DAV, nit. We pushing our scooty, in fact only I was
pushing scooty and brought it to a puncture shop .The shopkeeper was about 5
years older than us. He looked after the tyres condition and told us that the
bill would be about rs 45.we had that amount. Until UPS bought a water bottle
of Rs 15 and bringing our budget to rs 30.After half an hour he told the bill
is Rs 60.Each one of us were shocked ,what to do. Finally, I persuaded him to
take Rs 30 and told, ‘we are regular visitors and he’ll have the left amount
soon.it has been 2 months now until we had visited him. Finally I gave him the
amount after the incident happened with me at the barber’s shop. Maybe it meant
nothing to me but it would have been a lot sum to him. He was surprised to have
money back also I could see having faith in honesty back in his eyes. It was a
moment of realization.
If you ever have an encounter
with anything of such things, do pay them with our honesty .They may not need
your money every time. Give them our trust they may ask for money later. Set
examples for coming generations keeping in mind we ourselves are trending
generation. Do things for yourselves just to make yourself happy. It isn’t
about class or society. We just need to figure one thing what we are, where do
we come from and what makes us different from others and what difference we
have made around us.
If we didn’t make any. I am
afraid our role for nation isn’t considered. I suggest you to take small steps,
bigger ones will follow by. There’s okay with things you can’t do it.
There are
many things you can’t but at least do things what you can.
Keep an eye to everything, life
moves pretty fast. If you don’t stop and look around once in a while, you could
miss it. You could miss the essence of your presence on earth.
